I went to the doctors today.
No, I don't have a life-threatening disease that will render all human life obsolete. Sorry. I'm really not that interesting.
Rather, I went to register at the doctors.
I don't like doctors surgeries. They're full of sick people. You would think they'd be more considerate and make them queue round the back. Even worse, it's half term, so they're full of sick whiny children with snotty noses.
The stuff nightmares are made of.
Anyway - we had a nasty receptionist who claimed that the letter from our landlord was not sufficient evidence of our residence. That we could have fabricated it on our home PC all because we're so desperate to be members of this particular surgery. I mean, obviously this surgery is really cutting edge and all the 'slebs are on a waiting list to get exclusive membership.
I hate receptionists.
I would love to tell you that I shot her a withering glance, grabbed her by her lapels and said, "you are what evil looks like." I would love to say that I gave her The Fear.
But I didn't.
I hung my head low in shame and trooped home in resignation to find my telephone bill.

We do "hanging our heads in shame" rather well in this country! And queuing! The thing I hate about our drs surgery is the electronic message board. I always worry that I will miss my name, miss my turn and be blacklisted. Paranoia. We do that rather well as well. Good blog by the way.
Oh the joy of being English! ;)
Glad you enjoy my blog, thanks for the compliment!
(Brain a little flat, currently in Sweden. Have been up since 4am so no witty comments)
Hey, it's a far cry from my last surgery where they used to announce my name over the PA despite being aware that I was deaf. So I'd sit there for half an hour blissfully unaware! :o)
